My background is in religious, theological, and women's studies. During the completion of my two Master's degrees, I published several academic papers in peer-reviewed journals and worked as an editorial assistant for the journal entitled Bulletin for the Study of Religion.

I published my first paper as an undergraduate student after being announced as the runner-up for the Albert Clark Award, which is given annually for the best papers in the nation on religious studies or theology. My paper, entitled “Catholicism’s Role in the Lives of African-Americans: From Civil Rights to Today," was subsequently published in the Theta Alpha Kappa Journal.
